Criteria:
• Centered in Christ. Following the example of the life and teachings of Jesus, the outreach ministry will announce and share the love of God for all people through word and deed.
• Creates opportunities for service, prayer, praise, and learning the Gospel.
• Opens opportunities for participants to give testimonies, share learnings about the power of Jesus, and reflect on the Gospel together.
• Worship is encouraged but not required. When worship takes place, it is an extension of congregational worship.
• Encourages participants to live as evangelists.
Examples:
• Training and formation programs to equip people to share God’s good news.
• Initiatives that encourage lay leaders to practice evangelism in their communities.
• Service and ministry with people in need, like elders, veterans, people who are houseless.
• Neighborhood events like concerts, outdoor movie nights, holiday meals that encourage people who are not currently worshiping in a congregation to enter into a church or connect with a church group in the community.
• Cooperative programs with local schools and organizations that serve young people.
• Participation in local festivals and parades.
• Serving food and beverages outside a local food pantry.
